These plans are modern photocopies on bond copies of working drawings of the Queen Mary's main turbines. Each engine consisted of four turbine casings clustered around a gear box, and each sheet depicts a separate turbine (High Pressure Turbine, 1st Intermediate Pressure Tubine, 2nd Intermediate Pressure Turbine, and Low Pressure Turbine.)
Each drawing represents a half-cross section of one of the turbines, with details of the labyrinth packing, and data on rotor speed, blade particulars, thrust bearing particulars, and materials notes. The purpose of the drawing is to document the higlights of the design, dimensions, bearing and packing details.
It was the drafting room practice of the time to draw each plan on paper trimmed to the exact size needed, as a consequence, the size of the original drawings is variable. In the description below, the size of the image is indicated, as well as the width of the stock it is printed on.
All drawings are similar in format and content. Scale of the main half-section is 1 1/2" = 1 '. Details are generally 4 times full size.
Price: $15.00 each, or set of four for $48.00 + Shipping & Handling.

All drawings similar - watermarks do not appear in purchase copy. Because this is a photocopy of an original blueline drawing on linen, the copy shows the imperfections of the original (tooth of drawing surface, ink drop out, etc.)
